The Whites of Corte Quaiara: Tour & Tasting at Corte Quaiara in Sona
Here is what's in store for you
Corte Quaiara is located in Sona, on the morainic hills a few kilometers from Lake Garda and Verona, where the same family has been cultivating white grape varieties for over 60 years. Your visit will be personally led by either Giovanni, the owner, or Viviana, the sales manager.
The experience begins with a walk through the vineyard, followed by a tour of the main winemaking cellar and the barrel room. Here, you will see both traditional oak barrels and the terracotta amphorae used for aging some of the estate's most distinctive wines.
After the tour, you will be guided to the tasting room for a seated tasting of five white wines that showcase the estate's focus on extended maceration and unique varietals:
- Pinot Grigio 2022 (DOC Garda): aged in amphora.
- Campo al Salice 2021 (Bianco IGP Verona): a 100% Garganega.
- Monte delle Saette 2021 (Bianco IGP Verona): a field blend of Pinot Grigio, Goldtraminer, and Bianca Fernanda.
- Morain 2021 (Bianco IGP Verona): a 100% Garganega macerated on the skins, also known as an orange wine.
- Goldtraminer 2019 (IGP Verona): a rare Italian cross of Trebbiano Toscano and Gewürztraminer.
The tasting is accompanied by a platter of artisanal Northern Italian cured meats, such as coppa, pancetta, and soppressa.
