Amphorae and Macerated Wines by Corte Quaiara: Tour & Tasting in Sona
Here is what's in store for you
Just a short drive from Verona, Corte Quaiara is a pioneer of amphora winemaking in the region. Your visit is guided personally by either Giovanni, the owner, or Viviana, the sales manager, who will share their passion for ancient techniques inspired by traditions from Georgia and Armenia.
The experience begins with a walk through the vineyard, followed by a tour of the main cellar and the barrel room. Here, you'll see both traditional barrels and the terracotta amphorae that make the winery's approach unique. The tour concludes in the dedicated tasting room, where you'll sample three distinct wines aged in these ancient vessels.
Your tasting includes:
- Corvinone 2022 (Rosso IGP Verona)
- Pinot Grigio 2022 (DOC Garda)
- Morain 2021 (Bianco IGP Verona), a skin-contact white wine made from 100% Garganega grapes
The wines are served with an artisanal platter of Northern Italian cured meats, such as coppa, pancetta, and soppressa.
