Handcrafted Wines of the Morainic Hills: Tour & Tasting at Corte Quaiara in Sona
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to Corte Quaiara, located in the Morainic Hills just outside Verona, begins with a welcome from either Giovanni, the owner, or Viviana, the estate's manager. They will guide you on a tour through the property, starting in the vineyard where you'll learn about their focus on low yields to ensure high quality.
The tour continues into the winemaking cellar and the barrel room, where the wines age in both traditional barrels and terracotta amphorae. After the tour, you'll settle into the dedicated tasting room for a curated flight of 5 wines, selected to match your group's preferences. The selection often features:
- Campo al Salice, a 100% Garganega IGT Verona;
- Pinot Grigio Amphora, a copper-hued 100% Pinot Grigio DOC Garda aged in terracotta;
- Pinuàr, a 100% Pinot Noir IGT Verona;
- 100% Petit Verdot IGT Verona;
- The Brut Nature Saccomani Veneri, a Metodo Classico from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, aged for 70 months on its lees.
The tasting is paired with a platter of artisanal cured meats from Northern Italy, including local specialties like coppa, pancetta, and soppressa. This is an opportunity to understand a winemaking philosophy centered on expressing the land through wines of distinct acidity and minerality, guided by the people directly responsible for them.
