The Native Veronese Grapes: Tour & Wine Tasting at Corte Quaiara in Sona
Here is what's in store for you
Just 15 kilometers from Verona, Corte Quaiara cultivates native grape varieties with precision on ancient glacial soils. Your visit will be personally guided by either the owner, Giovanni, or the sales manager, Viviana.
You will start with a walk through the key areas of the estate: the vineyard, the main winemaking cellar, and the barrel room, which holds both traditional barrels and terracotta amphorae. The tour explains how the team meticulously manages each vine, from the golden clusters of Garganega to the rare, characterful Oseleta, to ensure low yields and maximum expression of the terroir.
Following the tour, your guide will lead you to the dedicated tasting room. Here you will taste four distinctive wines that showcase the versatility of Verona's native grapes:
- Corvinone (Rosso IGP Verona): a red made from 100% Corvinone grapes.
- Campo al Salice (Bianco IGP Verona): a classic white made from 100% Garganega.
- Morain (Bianco IGP Verona): a 100% Garganega skin-contact wine, also known as an orange wine.
- Oseleta (Rosso IGP Verona): a rare red wine made from 100% Oseleta grapes.
To complement the tasting, you'll be served an artisanal platter of Northern Italian cured meats, including local specialties like coppa, pancetta, and soppressa, alongside a curated selection of cheeses.
