Loire Valley Chateaux Day Tour from Tours or Amboise: Chenonceau, Chambord & Wine Tasting at Caves Ambacia

Spend a day exploring the chateaus of the Loire Valley and visit Caves Ambacia for a tour and wine tasting.

Your day will begin at 09:00 AM at the Tours Tourist Office or at 09:30 AM at the Amboise Tourist Office, where you'll be picked up to head toward the Chateau of Chenonceau,  nicknamed “the ladies castle" as prominent French women once resided here, including Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers. Besides the castle, you will be able to admire the wonderful Renaissance gardens that surround it.

Next, you will visit Caves Ambacia for a perfect Loire Valley wine experience. Enjoy a sensorial winery visit, followed by a wine-tasting class led by a professional sommelier. You will have the opportunity to taste 5 wines, including 1 vintage Vouvray wine. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy your lunch at the restaurant of Caves Ambacia, l'Oppidum" where you will discover typical Loire Valley products such as Cheeses, Delicatessen, and Fish. Alternatively, enjoy lunch at your leisure in Amboise.

After lunch, you will be transferred to the Estate of Chambord, a national game reserve that is as large as the city of Paris. Here you will visit the Chateau de Chambord, a unique monument by its architecture and proportions. Boasting 426 rooms, 77 staircases, and 282 fireplaces, it's the largest castle in the region and was ordered by King Francois I in 1519. Here, Leonardo da Vinci created an incredible double-helix staircase.

This full day of adventures will end with drop-off at 06:00 PM at the Tours Tourist Office or at 06:30 PM at the Amboise Tourist Office.
