Wine Tasting & Light Lunch in Valpolicella Classica at Nepos Villae
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to Nepos Villae begins with a walk through the historic vineyards in Negrar, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica area. Here, a member of the hospitality team will introduce you to the estate's history and its grape-growing practices.
The tour continues into the winery, where you will learn about the stages of winemaking and aging, viewing the original chestnut barrels that date back to 1875. You will also see the exterior of the historic 1510 villa and its small church, learning about their local significance.
The experience concludes in the tasting room with a guided tasting of four key wines: Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore, Amarone della Valpolicella, and Recioto della Valpolicella. The tasting is paired with a light lunch of local specialties, including fresh and medium-aged Monte Veronese cheese, Soppressa Veronese, and rolled pancetta with black pepper. To finish, you'll have Tuscan cantucci or traditional sbrisolona, along with a tasting of two local grappas.

A wonderful and educational experience
Then you move to the historic cellar, with fascinating tales of times gone by
Finally, the tasting of the estate's exceptional wines
The owner is an exquisite, pleasant person, he knows how to entertain and pleasantly explains the entire world of wines and the estate. An excellent experience.
An enchantment
The tour through the vineyards and in the historic cellar was extremely rich and interesting, and the visit to the villa was also surprising and fascinating. The tasting was magnificently organized, educational and absolutely delicious, the wines are excellent and the proposed pairings allow you to best appreciate all the high-quality raw material. Even the Recioto, slightly sweet, managed to win us over and make us take it home!
The passion and love that the Ruffo family puts in are evident and definitely appreciated. It was a real journey, immersed in a suggestive atmosphere, between history and traditions, and accompanied by truly competent people who are in love with what they do.
Villa, arms and heart
The tasting left us speechless.
We got to know and appreciate the winery's wines through an experience of aromas and flavors that won us over.
The Valpolicella Ripasso Strada Campiona and the Amarone Campo di Villa were at the top of our list of favorites, but the Recioto La Tesa was a very sweet discovery.
The deep-rooted and respected wines and traditions, as well as the family's history, ensure that the result is worth the trip, whatever the starting point.
