Vineyard Lunch and Wine Tasting at Terrazze dell'Etna in Randazzo
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Terrazze dell'Etna, located in Randazzo on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, is a deep dive into the region's food and wine culture. You will be welcomed by Roberta, a hospitality professional with a European WINTOUR Master's degree and WSET Level 2 certification.
The visit begins with a walk through the vineyard and a look at the historic palmento, the estate's traditional press house. Afterwards, you will take a seat for a guided tasting focused on Nerello Mascalese, Etna's principal red grape. You will taste it in three distinct versions: Ciuri IGT, vinified as a white wine; Rosato Etna DOC; and Carusu Rosso Etna DOC.
The tasting is paired with a seasonal lunch, served in the vineyards or in the tasting room overlooking them. You'll start with a platter of local appetizers: typically potato frittata, Caciotta dei Nebrodi cheese, fresh ricotta, salami, sun-dried tomatoes, and olives, served with bread, toasted almonds, and the estate's own olive oil and jam. This is followed by a seasonal pasta course, such as Pasta alla Norma in summer, lasagna with pumpkin and sausage in autumn, or maccheroncini with artichokes and saffron in spring. The meal concludes with coffee and a traditional almond pastry.
A dedicated children's menu is also available, featuring pasta with tomato sauce or a smaller portion of the adult's main course, accompanied by a soft drink. Dishes may vary depending on ingredient availability or your dietary requirements.
