The day begins with private door-to-door transport from Bilbao in a Mercedes V Class, heading into the hills of Bizkaia for a morning unlike most wine tours. You are welcomed at one of the Basque Country's finest txakoli producers by the winemaker directly. No group schedule, no rush. A walk through the estate is followed by a six-wine tasting that includes older vintages rarely poured for visitors. Each wine arrives with a small local snack — an anchoa, a gilda, a slice of local cheese — the kind of pairing that makes the difference between tasting wine and understanding where it comes from. The person who made the wines leads the conversation.

The afternoon belongs to Gernika — not the version most visitors see, but the one locals know. Your guide goes beyond the expected: the market, the Oak, the quieter corners of a town that carries its history with quiet dignity.
