Lucca & Pisa: Inside the Medieval Ramparts with Tuscan Wine Tour

Together, we will explore its most iconic landmarks, including Piazza San Michele in Foro with its Romanesque church, Piazza Napoleone with views of the Palazzo Ducale and the Teatro del Giglio, and the Duomo of San Martino, home to the sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto by Jacopo della Quercia and the revered “Volto Santo” of Christ.

We will pass by the birthplace of Giacomo Puccini, stroll through medieval streets to the elegant Via Fillungo, and admire the Guinigi Tower, Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, and the Basilica of San Frediano. A walk along the famous 16th-century walls of Lucca completes the experience: an extraordinary example of Renaissance fortification, with an elevated tree-lined walkway stretching for 4.2 km. After the visit, you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and taste Tuscan wines paired with typical dishes from Lucca’s culinary tradition, all served in a charming 17th-century cellar on the hills surrounding the city. In the afternoon, we will drive to Pisa to explore its famous Leaning Tower and the magnificent Piazza dei Miracoli. At the end of the day, we will drive you back to your address or to your ship.
