Noto & The Sicilian Baroque wine escape

Get ready to live a special 3 days escape to discover the real essence of the typical Sicilian Baroque style.

Day 1: Feudo Maccari & Noto

Whether you're already staying in Sicily or you have just arrived, this tour starts at 4 pm with a wine tasting experience at Feudo Maccari. Antonio Moretti Cuseri was fascinated by the Val di Noto (Eastern Sicily) while visiting it in the late 90’s and that's why he decided that it would be the perfect place for his next oenological challenge. In 2000, he began his first acquisitions, and “tumulo” after “tumulo” (an ancient Sicilian unit of measurement equal to 1,744 square metres) he pieced together, bit by bit, more than fifty properties. This was the beginning of one of Sicily’s most intriguing projects, with Maccari at its very heart.

After the tasting we reach Noto and we check in at the hotel Villa Giulia or Similar. Dinner on own and overnight.

Day 2: Feudo Maccari & Noto

After breakfast and check out this morning you depart from Noto to Planeta Buonivini, only 30 minutes drive. Here you'll meet the local hospitality manager at 11 am and start a tour with wine tasting and light lunch included. After lunch you depart towards Noto for a free visit to the historical city center. The aperitif today will be offered at Cantina Zisola (only 5 minutes from Noto).  The Estate is located in South-East Sicily, the land of origin of the Nero d'Avola vine only a few steps from Noto, famous for its baroque buildings and Unesco World Heritage Site. The Mazzei identified the latent potential of this land rich with history, culture, and charm, and started an ambitious wine making project in 2003

After tasting we depart for the Agriturismo Le Zagare where you'll check in and have free time for dinner. Overnight.

Day 3: Last but not least

After checking out, today you have the opportunity to reach and visit Canina Ramaddini (10 minutes from the farmhouse) for a beautiful wine tasting experience, before reaching Catania on your own. In Catania, end of the services. Winemakers of Ramaddini love simplicity and cannot help but thrill, because through their work they produce a nectar that gives joy and pleasure to those who taste it. They produce their grapes and make wine with their own hands, respecting tradition and the environment, with the courage to innovate.
