Art & Wine Journey from Marseille: Aix-en-Provence & Château La Coste
Here is what's in store for you
Meet your driver in Marseille and head out into the Provençal countryside. Head east of Aix-en-Provence to reach Vallée de l’Arc, a natural spot for vine cultivation. Along the road admire Montagne St. Victoire to the north and the massive Sainte-Baume to the south.
Once in Aix-en-Provence, delve into the heart of the city center by exploring its historic charm, adorned with fountains, majestic mansions, and the Saint Sauveur cathedral. If you want, immerse yourself in the artistic realm of the renowned painter Cézanne at his workshop, passing through "the painters' field" and the iconic "Cézanne portal" (please note, the workshop ticket is not included). After lunch, continue your adventure with a visit to the prestigious Château La Coste. Here, you will enjoy the various contemporary art exhibitions, a visit to the vineyards, and a delightful wine tasting.
On the way, take advantage of possible stops to explore local craftsmanship and discover unique shops featuring regional products (depending on the timing), such as the Puyricard chocolate, olive oil boutiques, confectioneries, and lavender shops.
