Here is what's in store for you

At Podere Scurtarola, you can discover the winemaking traditions of the Candia Hills, a territory of great potential at the north-western point of Tuscany. With a history of viticulture that goes back at least 2000 years, many of the grape varieties you will find here are indigenous. One of them is the Vermentino nero, which has been vinified in purity at Podere Scurtarola, for more than 30 years.

The visit will begin in the vineyards, with the Apuan Alps as a backdrop and the Mediterranean Sea stretching out at the foot of the hills far below. Here it is easy to understand the term heroic winemaking, as the slopes of the vineyards exceed an 80% gradient. All operations are carried out manually and in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem. They don't use any herbicides or fertilizers, don't work the land, and in the wine cellar they don't add any yeasts. All their wines are very low on sulfates and therefore easy to digest.

The tour ends with a tasting of 4 different wines accompanied by a selection of local delicacies, such as cold cuts, bread, quiches, and cheese.

Wine tasting with a gigantic view

Relaxing

A beautiful afternoon discovering the Candia vineyards that overlook the sea, followed by a visit to the winery and a tasting of the wines they produce, accompanied by vegetable tarts, cured meats and cheeses.
A special thanks to our guide Helga, who explained to us in detail both the different vineyards, the wine in the cellar, and the tasting which took place in a very pleasant atmosphere of joviality.

Interesting and fun

My boyfriend and I spent a really pleasant two and a half hours.
Thanks also to the professionalism and friendliness of Signora Olga, who explained everything necessary and answered all the questions she was asked and what's more, we spent some quality time with her, chatting about this and that between one glass and another.
Definitely an experience to be repeated.
