Tour, tasting and gourmet light lunch at Farina Wines in Valpolicella Classica
Here is what's in store for you
In Pedemonte, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica and less than 15 km from Verona and 20 minutes from Lake Garda, Farina Wines welcomes you for a journey through the vineyards, cellar and the different ways this historic wine territory continues to evolve. Giorgia, Francesco, Nicole or Chiara, from the winery’s hospitality team, accompanies you throughout the experience.
The visit begins in the vineyard before moving into the production areas, where you learn about appassimento, the traditional drying of grapes that lies behind Amarone and Recioto. In the ageing cellar, you see Slavonian oak barrels and barriques alongside more contemporary vessels such as Tulipe concrete tanks and Clayver stoneware amphorae, showing how Farina combines established Valpolicella practices with new approaches to maturation.
You then take a seat in the winery’s recently renovated tasting room for a guided tasting of six wines, all red expressions of Valpolicella and Verona.
Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore, based on Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella with small amounts of local grapes, opens the flight with a fresher, balanced character.
Montecorna Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore, led by Corvina, gains extra depth through the traditional ripasso on Amarone pomace.
Corte Conti Cavalli Rosso Veronese IGT, a blend of Corvina and Merlot with Molinara and Oseleta, offers a rounder, fruit-driven expression.
The tasting then moves into the richer side of Valpolicella with Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico, made from dried Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and other traditional grapes.
Famiglia Farina Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico, led by Corvina and matured between Slavonian oak and concrete, gives you a second interpretation of Amarone with greater depth and structure.
The final glass is Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG Classico, a sweet red based mainly on Corvina and Rondinella, made from grapes dried in the traditional fruttaio.
The six wines are accompanied by a generous selection of local food, including soppressa and Monte Veronese cheese, other artisanal cured meats and cheeses, freshly baked bread or focaccia and traditional giardiniera. The experience finishes with a traditional Veronese dessert, coffee and a taste of Amarone grappa.

Everything was exceptional!
heart of Valpollicella. Tour through the vineyards, in the old winery and the new part. Wonderful interplay between modern barrels and works of art.
The light lunch that accompanied our tasting was truly excellent. Superb wines. Our guide along this journey was the wonderful Francesco, who tells the story of this family and its wines with enviable passion.
We recommend this experience to everyone.
