Exploring Cretan Flavours: Cheese & Wine Tasting Tour From Chania
Here is what's in store for you
Explore the rich culinary heritage of Crete on this immersive experience designed to introduce you to the island’s authentic flavors and traditions.
Your journey begins with a visit to a local bakery, where you’ll discover how traditional Cretan products such as rusks and bread are made. Continue to an olive grove, where you will learn about olive cultivation and the production of local products, including honey.
Next, visit a traditional, multi-awarded cheese factory, where you will gain insight into the cheese-making process (or enjoy a detailed explanation if production is not in progress), followed by a tasting of local specialties.
The experience continues with a visit to the historic olive tree of Ano Vouves, one of the oldest in the world, estimated to be between 3,000 and 5,000 years old—a true natural monument still producing olives today.
You will then head to Pnevmatikakis Winery, a family-run estate in Kissamos, where you will discover the island’s winemaking traditions and enjoy a tasting of locally produced and award-winning wines, paired with Cretan delicacies. Families are welcome, and kids are served a special platter and non-alcoholic drinks, crafted by the winery family!
To conclude this memorable day, relax at a nearby beach, the perfect way to unwind after a journey through Crete’s flavors, landscapes, and traditions.
