Château de Gensac: Private Winery Tour And Wine & Armagnac Tasting
Here is what's in store for you
A behind the scenes look into the inner workings of Château de Gensac and the Armagnac region. You are welcomed with an introduction to the estate's 13th-century château, the history of Armagnac and winemaking in Gascony, and the estate's organic and quality-driven philosophy. You will then be led into the heart of the operation — the winery and cellars. Here, an expert guide walks you through the full winemaking journey, from harvest and fermentation, to maturation in barrel, to Armagnac distillation, explaining the choices behind each step and what makes the estate's approach distinctive.
In the cellar, you will gain an understanding of how different varieties and techniques shape the final wines and Armagnacs, with attention to the estate's flagship grapes: Tannat, Malbec, Petit Manseng, and Petit Courbu. The experience continues with a guided tasting of five wines of your choice from the Château de Gensac range, allowing you to explore the full breadth of what this remarkable terroir can produce, followed by two Armagnacs that speak to the deep-rooted brandy tradition of southwest France.
This experience is designed for wine and Armagnac enthusiasts who want to go beyond the glass and understand the craft and vision behind each cuvée. Set within the stunning landscape of the Gers — a region of sun-drenched hills, ancient stone villages, and an extraordinarily rich viticultural heritage — Château de Gensac offers an experience that is at once educational, sensory, and deeply rooted in place.
