4x4 Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting at Giovanna Tantini in Castelnuovo del Garda
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Giovanna Tantini's estate begins in the winery, where you'll be welcomed with a glass of Custoza DOC. Giovanna, the owner, or her collaborator Sofia, will be your guide for the day. They will share the philosophy behind their work and the history of the winery before taking you on a tour of the facilities to see the winemaking process.
Next, you'll board a 4x4 jeep for a tour along the unpaved tracks that wind through the estate's vineyards between Castelnuovo del Garda and Sona. The route crosses the morainic hills overlooking Lake Garda, a landscape of ridges and depressions shaped by ancient glaciers. During the drive, your guide will explain the history of the vineyards and the characteristics of the signature local grape varieties.
After the off-road tour, you'll return to the winery for a guided tasting of three more Giovanna Tantini wines: a Chiaretto di Bardolino DOC rosé, a Corvina Garda DOC “MA.GI.CO.” rosé, and a Bardolino DOC red. The tasting is paired with a platter of local products, including salami, Monte Veronese cheese, and Grana Padano. Depending on the weather, the tasting is held either in the dedicated tasting room or in the terraced garden.
