Sommelier-led Tasting of Verona Wines with Local Food at Enoteca Baraldi
Here is what's in store for you
This tasting brings the celebrated wine regions around Veronaì, like Soave, Lugana, and Valpolicella, into a single room at Enoteca Baraldi. It's an ideal way to explore the local terroir without leaving the city.
You'll taste 4 wines from the Verona area, from the well-known whites Soave and Lugana to the prized reds of Valpolicella, with an Amarone always included. As you taste, the Enoteca Baraldi sommelier walks you through the native grape varieties behind each wine, from Garganega in Soave to Turbiana in Lugana, passing by the Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella blend that shapes Valpolicella and Amarone. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what's in your glass and why the region's hills produce these distinct flavors, focusing on the local grapes and terroir rather than a technical lecture.
The wines are served with a selection of typical products from the Veronese province. The board changes with the season, but you can typically expect cheeses such as Monte Veronese DOP, a cheese aged in Amarone, or a smoked Lessinia ricotta, alongside Veneto cured meats like Soppressa Veneta and local salami. For anyone not drinking, the sommelier provides non-alcoholic options, while the cheese and charcuterie board is there for the whole table to share.

Valpolicella
I think in the description for tasting or don’t promise any snacks or give something fresh. I think the sausage I’ve got were there from the last day it was super dry and cheese as well even though it was old cheese. Yes I could also not eat that ,in my family it’s not respectful to not eat that you got.
Valpolicella wines
The Lugana was so nice we bought a bottle.
