Santorini: Semiprivate Half-Day Wine Tasting Tour to 3 Wineries with Transfer
Here is what's in store for you
Santorini makes wine the hard way. Vines are trained low to the ground in woven baskets to survive the wind, roots dig into volcanic ash and pumice, and the island's signature Assyrtiko turns all of that into whites with real tension and salinity. This guided tour takes you to three local wineries in a single trip, so you taste how that volcanic terroir, the climate and the native grapes come together, across estates that range from long-standing family cellars to more modern operations.
You're collected by minibus (up to 10 guests) from selected meeting points, and dropped back at the same spots at the end. At each winery a guided tasting walks you through three wines, for a total of nine across the tour. Tastings are held in the estates' tasting rooms or, weather permitting, outside — which is the whole point of the afternoon departure, timed for the sunset over the caldera.
Two departures, two line-ups of wineries:
Morning tour: Canava Roussos, Koutsogiannopoulos and Venetsanos
Afternoon tour: Venetsanos, Canava Roussos and Aroma Avlis
Canava Roussos — one of the island's historic family wineries. You'll taste the Nichteri (dry white, 2022), the Caldera (dry red, 2017) and the Mavrathiro (sweet dessert wine, 2008), served with potato chips, slices of apple and paximadi, the traditional Greek dry rusk bread.
Venetsanos — the estate built into the cliff above the caldera. On the pour: Santorini Oak (dry white, 2022), Rozato (dry rosé, 2022) and Liastos (sweet dessert wine, 2018), alongside a spread of graviera cheese, salami, Kalamata olives, bread sticks and tomato spread.
Aroma Avlis (afternoon only) — the most recent stop, with a bright, contemporary range: Terra Nera dry white (2025), Terra Nera dry rosé (2025) and a Vinsanto (sweet dessert wine, 2010), paired with kasseri cheese and paximadi.
By the end you've tasted across three cellars, from crisp Assyrtiko whites to sun-dried sweet wines that only a place like this produces and and you've seen why Santorini's wine is unlike anywhere else in Greece.
