On this tour you’ll get to know two of Portugal’s most interesting wine-producing regions: the Douro Valley and the Vinho Verde Region!
The Douro Valley hardly needs an introduction, being the oldest demarcated region in the world (1756) and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. This is where Port wine was born and is still king, but DOC Douro red and white wines are also gaining prominence in the market.
On the other hand, we have the Vinho Verde region, which has become popular much more recently with this type of wine that surprises on the first sip with its refreshing acidity, floral aroma and fruity flavour.
Departing from Porto, your morning will begin with a visit to two family-run Quintas, where the practice of organic maintenance of the vineyards is very important. Tradition and innovation go hand in hand when it comes to producing exceptional wines at these two Quintas! The guided tour will be followed by tastings of DOC Vinho Verde wines. For lunch you’ll have an exquisite 3-course meal at a Quinta, where DOC Vinho Verde wines will be served and take the meal to another level.
Our last stop will be at another family estate founded in the 20th century, a pioneer in the production of DOC Douro wines with a wide variety of grape varieties. A wine tasting with these nectars will round off our visit.
