Champagne Tour and Tasting at Adrien Simon in Pouillon near Reims
Here is what's in store for you
Just a short drive from Reims, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, you will be welcomed to the Champagne Adrien Simon estate by Eloïse Martinet, the winemakers’ niece and granddaughter, or, on rare occasions, by winemaker Adrien Simon himself. Your host will introduce you to the estate’s winemaking philosophy, shaped by a commitment to sustainable viticulture and its ongoing conversion to organic farming.
Your tour begins in the vineyards, where you'll learn about the region's unique terroir and its signature Pinot Meunier grape. From there, you'll follow the journey of the grapes to the press and into the winery. The host will explain their vinification techniques, from traditional stainless-steel tanks to the use of oak barrels for specific parcel selections. The visit continues down into the cellars before concluding with a tasting.
Finally, settle in for a guided tasting of two Champagnes of your choice from the estate’s range, including its signature Meunier-led cuvée, rosé and Chardonnay-based blends, and single-vineyard Champagnes aged in French oak barrels.
In good weather, the tasting takes place outdoors at a panoramic spot overlooking the vineyards. A covered area is available in case of rain, while an indoor tasting room with a bar and tables is used when conditions are too cold or unsuitable. Visits are limited to small groups, allowing plenty of time for questions and conversation with the family.
