Dutch Wine & Cheese Tasting in Amsterdam
Here is what's in store for you
What to Expect from This Dutch Wine & Cheese Tasting
This guided tasting, hosted by food and wine writer Vicky Hampton, offers a fresh and insightful introduction to the diversity and quality of Dutch wines. Throughout the experience, you will taste a curated selection of wines paired with Dutch cheeses, each combination chosen to highlight different regions, grape varieties, and styles.
You will explore fresh coastal whites from Zeeland, shaped by salty air and cool breezes, as well as lighter reds alongside more structured examples from Limburg in the south of the Netherlands. The tasting also includes unique wines made from hybrid grapes, showcasing lesser-known regions such as Brabant and Friesland. From crisp and refreshing styles to more textured, food-friendly expressions, each wine reveals a different facet of the country’s evolving wine scene.
*The exact selection of wines and cheeses may vary depending on availability, but the focus remains on quality, balance, and the harmony between wine and food.
This experience is perfect for those curious about Dutch wine and looking for a meaningful introduction, as well as for anyone who enjoys tasting with context, stories, and a sense of place. It is designed as a small, social experience, ideal for discovering wines that are rarely encountered elsewhere. No prior knowledge is required—just curiosity and an open mind.
