Discover Nemea: Wine Tasting Tour from Athens
Here is what's in store for you
Depart via the National Highway toward the majestic Peloponnese peninsula. En route to Nemea, stop at the iconic Corinth Canal (the “Isthmus” in Greek) to admire its dramatic landscape and capture breathtaking panoramic views where the Peloponnese meets Central Greece, linking the Aegean and Ionian Seas.
Continue to Nemea, a modern yet authentic wine region, rich in history and still a hidden gem to many wine lovers. Discover two of Greece’s most celebrated grape varieties—Moschofilero from Mantinia and the renowned Agiorgitiko of Nemea—both internationally acclaimed for their unique character and quality.
Explore Greece’s most important red-wine appellation, located in the northeastern Peloponnese. For centuries, the surrounding mountains and valleys of Nemea have produced exceptional wines, primarily from the native Agiorgitiko grape, ranging from full-bodied dry reds to lighter, subtly sweet styles. Visit two carefully selected wineries from the region’s approximately 40 producers and enjoy guided tastings.
After a full day of wine exploration, pass through the picturesque seaport town of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece. Enjoy a short stop to stroll through its charming alleys, soak in its romantic atmosphere, and relax at Syntagma Square with a meal (not included) or a refreshing drink overlooking the island fortress of Bourtzi.
