Here is what's in store for you
Le Strie Winery awaits you in the heart of Valtellina for a tasting of its fine red wines.
The experience begins with a short visit to Le Strie winery, where the owners will tell you how they produce their wines and how they work.
You will then head to the old "jails" of the village, used as the winery's tasting point. The wine tasting will take place in a very informal way: the winemakers will describe the main characteristics of their products: Alpi Retiche Nebbiolo IGT, Rosso di Valtellina DOC, Valtellina Superiore DOCG, and Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG. They are all red wines made from Nebbiolo grapes, very traditional in cut, territorial, straightforward, and direct: Le Strie is, in fact, a small direct-grower company and they personally take care of all aspects; the cultivation of the vineyards, the cellar, the promotion, and the sale.
The four wines will be paired with a small selection of local cheeses and cured meats purchased from producers that the owners know personally.

Where we are and how to reach us
Beware of following GPS directions: arrive at Ponte in Valtellina, Piazza Della Vittoria, and from there point to the final destination, Ponte in Valtellina, Piazza Libero Della Briotta. In this way, you will avoid passing through a very narrow alley: about 1.5 meters wide.
You can park in the square, between the elementary and middle schools.

Le Strie
A very small winery, where the artisanal work and the passion of the owners nevertheless shine through. The area where we did the actual tasting was very scenic. Paolo was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Arrive a little early to find parking and the winery.

Excellent hospitality, clear explanations and a truly interesting tasting. Despite being a small operation managed by non-local producers, their great experience in agriculture and enology is evident in the wines; they have especially exploited the versatility of Nebbiolo. The Sforzato struck us in particular: made from dried grapes, it is structured, balanced and perfect for important dishes. A small but high-quality winery.
