Mothia Tour: Marsala salt pans, lagoon boat tour & wine tasting from Trapani
Here is what's in store for you
Enjoy a boat ride along the lagoon of the Stagnone Reserve, around the island of Mothia, and conclude the experience with a delightful tasting of local wines and typical products.
As we sail by, you'll be able to see the salt pans of Marsala with their salt mountains. We will discover the history of ancient battles and all the people who inhabited this area. The island of Mothia, the first one you'll be able to spot, is now an open-air museum and a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status. We will then cruise along the other islands of the archipelago, Schola, Long Island, and Santa Maria. Salt and history have always been linked to the life of this coastal area, and proof of this is the many typical products related to salt.
To conclude the experience, a tasting of typical local products will allow us to sample salt-related products, wine jellies, chocolate, almond and pistachio cream, and local cheese, all accompanied by 3 local wines; a blend of two grape varieties flavored with almond, a sweet Zibibbo and a Marsala vergine.
