Aperitif in Enoteca degli Infernot
Here is what's in store for you
Discover the unique flavors of Monferrato with this authentic aperitif experience at the Enoteca degli Infernot, located in the UNESCO-listed village of Cella Monte, in the heart of Piedmont. Created by Paolo Ottone of Azienda Agricola Torre Veglio (Terruggia) and winemaker Mario Arditi of Cantina Cinque Quinti (Cella Monte), this historic venue celebrates the territory’s winemaking culture and its iconic Infernot – hand-dug underground rooms made of Pietra da Cantoni, typical of the Basso Monferrato area.
The tasting takes place in a beautifully restored former village grocery store, now home to the Enoteca degli Infernot. Here, guests will taste 2 local wines paired with a traditional platter featuring specialties like salame and pancetta from historic butcher Francia Enrico, homemade chard frittata, Piedmontese toma cheese, and freshly baked focaccia.
A must-try is the Grignolino, an ancient Piedmontese grape that finds its ideal terroir on these very hills. Minors will be served a homemade seasonal fruit juice made by the hosts.
The experience also includes a guided visit to the historic underground cellar, offering a glimpse into the area's deep winemaking roots.
